K Martial Arts – Nutley, NJ

Olympic Sparring

Team KTC is the official sports program developed for students to learn and practice the sport and competition aspect of martial arts and Taekwondo.

Since our founding in 2017, Team KTC’s curriculum and programs have yielded tremendous results in gearing our students towards great success both on and beyond the mat. While enrolled in our program, students:
•  Learn to persevere through rigorous training

•  Prepare for and compete in official regional and national tournaments
•  Bring their unique flair to our sparring and demo teams
•  Develop invaluable interpersonal skills through teaching younger and lower-ranked students
•  Receive official accreditation for their class-teaching efforts, reflected in yearly opportunities to earn the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award

With Taekwondo being an ever growing sport and Olympic staple attracting practitioners and viewers from across the world, individual success in its competitive environment indicates remarkable achievement. Team KTC members regularly participate in tournaments at every level including the affiliated AAU and USA Taekwondo.

Tournaments offer an event range normally comprising of sparring, poomsae (forms / patterns), and board breaking. As members of Team KTC, our students receive more personalized instruction while developing into well-rounded athletes able to find interdisciplinary success across events.

The success of Team KTC’s athletes extends far beyond the confines of the Taekwondo mat. By themselves, the President’s Volunteer Service Award and success in challenging Taekwondo tournaments are powerful spikes for any resume or college application. When an individual is able to achieve both, they demonstrate a rare combination of amicable traits that ensures college admissions officers and workforce interviewers will give them serious consideration. Team KTC members have gone on to attend prestigious universities, earn incredible scholarships, and achieve great success throughout their future endeavors.

K Martial Arts

Although many people think the martial arts are just about fighting, the truth is that the physical “kicking and punching” are really just the tools that I use to teach the more important, and MUCH more valuable lessons about yourself.
